God Closes the Circle

It always makes the hair stand up on my arms when God says, “You see, I told you I have a plan.” A couple of weeks ago, Matt, a guy I’ve known and worked with for the last couple of years, contacted me regarding a phone call he received from a single mother in Longview. She had gotten his phone number off of her mother’s phone while mom was passed out. She and her child lived with her mother, and she needed to get out. The police kept showing up and their life was dysfunctional and quite unmanageable. Obviously a really bad living environment.

Matt wanted to know if the ministry could help this single mom with furniture, appliances, etc. to get settled into a new place. Of course, we did all we could do. Matt and Lonnie took an overloaded truck load of needed items to her.

The ministry has been able to help over 70 people get into housing and begin a life of self sufficiency over the past 3 years. But this one has a wonderful fulfilling twist to it. This young lady got Matt’s number off of her mother’s phone. She did not know Matt. She was just looking for someone to help her. She checked Matt out on social media then made the call. She called Matt not knowing that her mother used to be Matt’s drug dealer. Matt has been sober, living a new life for over 2 years. Thanks to God’s grace, Matt was available, accessible, and sober and was able to put the wheels in motion to help this young single mom. God completed the circle and broke the cycle.

God is doing amazing things in East Texas. Shortly, I’ll be communicating with you regarding the phenomenal works of God I witnessed while ministering on a recent trip to Dallas.

Each and every one of you is so vital to the work of this ministry. Your prayers, your financial support, and your willingness to pitch in and help those who don’t yet know Jesus keep me going.
