March 2023 Newsletter

The first few months of 2024 have been a very busy, exciting time for Hope and Solution Ministries. We have had the privilege of sharing The Gospel in Tyler, Dallas, and Austin. In all 3 cities, God has harvested and done amazing things.

A quick recap of the first four months of 2024…

  • 67 people have made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior
  • 3 people in Tyler and 3 people in Dallas moved into permanent housing
  • 11 people have entered recovery programs

MY LATEST TRIP:
I’ve recently returned from 4 days on the streets of Austin and 4 days on the streets of Dallas. I prayed almost the entire train ride to Austin that God would make a way for a breakthrough. Most people I had encountered on previous trips to Austin had not been receptive to the Gospel message. Many of those on the streets don’t even want a different way of life–at least not yet. Here’s how my Austin trip began…

When I arrived at the train depot and requested an Uber to my Airbnb, I got a ride with a driver named Marco. As Marco and I began to talk, I learned that he, his girlfriend and their 2 children moved to Austin 8 months ago from California. He realized that he “had to get out of California” as he was a second-generation gang member. I also learned that he had quit using meth 2 months prior to our meeting–and he was miserable. As we talked on the 15-minute ride, I shared the true solution to addiction and maladjusted life–Our Savior Jesus Christ. We arrived at my Airbnb and Marco offered to help with my luggage to get to the 2nd floor. That evening in the doorway to the Airbnb, Marco gave his life to Christ. The next morning as I was preparing to hit the streets, Marco texted that he was at an NA meeting. By that evening he had a sponsor, and with guidance from his sponsor, a week later he entered a 28-day recovery program.

God wasn’t done yet. Over those 4 days in Austin, 13 others made Jesus their Lord and Savior. What a wonderful testament to being obedient! What a glorious harvest!

Since my first trip to Dallas 18 months ago, I have been able to create a network that is almost as strong as the network in Tyler. Every trip to Dallas seems to be a good one. During my recent visit to Dallas, I was privileged to witness 12 more men and women become our brothers and sisters in Christ. In addition, our ministry was able to help 2 people get into permanent housing.

I want to thank everyone for allowing me to take part in the growth of the Kingdom. None of this would be possible without the support of people like you, through prayer and financial resources.
