October 2024 Newsletter

Dear Ministry Partners and Friends,

The first 9 months of 2024 have been full of wonderful works of God for Hope & Solution Ministries.  We have had the privilege of sharing The Gospel in Tyler, Dallas, Austin and New Orleans. In all 4 cities, God has done amazing things.

A quick recap of the first 9 months of 2024…

  • 166 people have made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior
  • 56 in Tyler, 74 in Dallas, 34 in Austin and 2 in New Orleans
  • 14 people have been baptized
  • 6 people in Tyler, 6 people in Dallas and 1 in Austin moved into permanent housing
  • 19 people have entered recovery programs

MY LATEST TRIP

In September I spent  3 days in Dallas and 4 days in Austin. What an amazing trip it was! I returned to Tyler filled with joy and in awe of what Our Lord & Savior accomplished over those 7 days. Dallas has become a field that brings me such encouragement. The lost, the forgotten, the homeless and the addicted are yearning for a new way of life. It felt as though more people were willing to talk with me then on previous trips. In 3 days, 13 people came to Christ with 2 of them being baptized. Also, we were able to get one person into permanent housing and another into a 30-day rehab program.

I discovered a new area of Austin to proclaim the Gospel, and it was a truly ripe field. I spent a lot of time under the I-35 overpass at 6th Street. Each day there were 35-40 people congregated and camping there and they are truly in need of what Jesus offers. I believe this was the largest harvest I’ve seen in Austin with 8 people making Jesus their Lord and Savior and getting 1 young man off the streets and into rehab for his meth addiction.

I usually travel by train from Dallas to Austin and from Austin back home. This has given me many opportunities to witness to people–sowing seeds without seeing God harvest. However, on my trip back to Tyler, outside of Cleburne, I was privileged to see God harvest a young man who was headed to the Chicago area. To witness God at work is such a blessing and I am grateful to see it firsthand.

UPCOMING MISSIONARY TRIPS

Over the next several weeks I will be in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and New Orleans. I have also been invited to hit the streets in Chicago and am exploring that opportunity. As you may be aware, we have a Mission Trips Campaign to raise funds to make these trips to these additional cities. Our goal is to raise $8775 to cover the costs associated with these trips. To date we have raised $4926. I’m grateful for everyone that has supported this Campaign. We still need to raise at least $3849 to be able to hit all of the cities to which I’ve been called to proclaim the Gospel.

I want to thank everyone for allowing me to take part in the growth of the Kingdom. None of this would be possible without the support of people like you, through prayer and financial resources.

The worst part of ministry for me is asking for funding. But I am asking for your support so the Kingdom message can be shared with as many as possible in as many places as possible.

Your Brother in Christ,

Eric
